“Activating Social Justice & Human Rights principles; from a Youth & Civil Society Perspective” Regional Workshop – Hammamet, Tunisia – June 2015

In partnership with the Arab League – Population Policies, Expatriates and Migration Department (PPEMD-LAS), Naseej designed and implemented a regional workshop for young Arab human rights practitioners from 8 countries; Lebanon, Palestine, Jordan, Egypt, Libya, Tunis, Algeria and Morocco (southern Mediterranean).

The workshop took place in Hammamet City and as part of the “3rd. Mediterranean University on Youth and Global Citizenship” which is organized annually by North-South Centre of the Council of Europe in co-operation with the National Youth Observatory of Tunisia and in partnership with the League of Arab States, the European Youth Forum, the Italian National Youth Forum and the National Youth Council of Catalonia.

The interactive training workshop tackled a number of themes, including, but not limited to: an introduction to human rights?, the human rights declaration and why?, What is the ‘the rights-based work’ and ‘social-justice based work?, How can the ‘principles-based’ work make a real difference in communities?.
